A short, comedic film, slated for production in the summer of 2014, about RK Dandekar, who goes to the grocery store to gather the ingredients for the perfect sandwich, and makes an unlikely connection. (7 minutes)

THE STYLE/TONE.

Dandekar Makes a Sandwich is a dramedy. We plan to film it on 35mm film, using a steadicam, which will allows us to have nice, flowing movement, without the jerkiness of a handheld camera. You can check out Leena’s Look Book and Visual Inspiration for the feature film, Days with Dandekar, here. The style for the short film will be the same/similar.

THE SHORT FILM.

Dandekar Makes a Sandwich is a prequel to the feature film, Days with Dandekar, slated for production in 2015. The screenplay was workshopped in the prestigious Film Independent Screenwriter’s Lab, and was selected for Tribeca All Access. Through the short film, we can:

1) Establish Style and Tone: A short will give us the opportunity to make something high quality that shows what the feature will look/feel like. We will also have the chance to work with the actors and crew on a style and vision for the movie that is unique, interesting and truly stands out.

2) Build An Audience: Before we go out and raise the hundreds and thousands of dollars that is takes to make a feature film, we want to make a short film that gets seen in both festivals and online. This way we can build an audience, and develop potential relationships with distributors. We want to make sure our movie ultimately gets seen!
